How we calculate and what applies legally

Creditworthiness for leasingUnder Art. 29 KKG the leasing rate must be affordable without touching the non-attachable part of income under Art. 93 SchKG. The basis is the guidelines on the subsistence minimum under debt enforcement law.
What is deductedBase amount according to the guidelines of the canton of residence (CHF 1'200 single, CHF 1'100 in a shared household, CHF 1'350 single parent, in Aargau CHF 1'200, CHF 1'700 married couple, per child CHF 400 up to 10 years and CHF 600 above), actual housing costs, health insurance premiums, taxes based on the withholding tax rate, work expenses (meals CHF 9 to 11 per main meal, shift supplement CHF 5.50 per day, commute), alimony and all reported loans and leasings.
IncomeNet wage after social deductions (a flat 13 % for AHV/IV/EO, ALV, BVG and NBU), plus regular secondary income and family allowances (Aargau 2026: CHF 225 per child, CHF 278 in education). A partner's income only counts if they co-sign the contract.
Maximum rate and withdrawalA legal maximum rate of 10 % applies to leasing. After signing the contract there is a right of withdrawal of 14 days from receipt of the contract copy.
Reporting dutyEvery leasing contract is reported to the consumer credit information office (IKO) and taken into account in future financing. The ZEK is also queried.
Needed for the applicationCopy of ID or passport (foreigner's permit if needed) and the last three pay slips. The final review and decision rest with BANK-now.
Assets as an alternativeIf income isn't enough, creditworthiness can also be established through proven assets under Art. 29 para. 2 KKG. The bank reviews this case by case and it is not factored in here.
ScopeThe KKG applies to private individuals for financing from CHF 500 to CHF 80'000. Leasing through a company or a higher amount is not covered, in which case the bank reviews by its own criteria.
Data protectionYour details are only calculated in this window, neither stored nor transmitted, and trigger no inquiry to IKO or ZEK.

Granting credit is prohibited if it leads to over-indebtedness of the consumer (Art. 3 UWG).

All values are guide values without guarantee. Taxes and health insurance are estimated at a flat rate if you don't enter them yourself. The result is not a credit commitment. Example: cash price CHF 21'700, down payment CHF 2'000, 48 months, residual value CHF 9'000, nominal interest 3.99 %, effective 4.06 %: monthly rate CHF 276.80, total price under the leasing contract CHF 24'009.60. Mandatory fully comprehensive insurance not included. Lessor: BANK-now AG, Horgen. Broker: Car Trade24, Wohlen.
